Katekani community project

For future event will be having a heritage Day on the 24th of September 2023 and the HIV and AIDS awareness on the 1st of December 2023. On the 24th of September 2023 we will e learning about different heritage is because knowing your cultural hours you to acknowledge worldviews and other characters besides yours. It will provide better understanding of various  beliefs and cultures. This will bring guide and strengthen the historic beliefs, know more and connect to your ancestors. On the 1st of December 2023 is the world AIDS day so around our community we will celebrate this Day by showing support for people living with and affected by HIV. We will  remember those who lost their lives to AIDS, remind people to always protect themselves from getting infected with HIV and AIDS STI and STDs.

Our NPO loves empowering women hence most women are afraid to be out there to be independent, because they lost their self-esteem. Women are broken to an extend that they depend on ma, they also think that they are unable to do beautiful things on their own. Hence we empower them, restore their confidence, reassure them that they could do things on their own.

This was the gender base violence event hosted by our organisation. Here we address issues that violet other people's right's which is wrong. Such issues should be reported to the police station. By not reporting this it will threaten their lives and make them feel unwanted  to the community. We organised different stakeholders to address about the GBV.

We go out to the community and do HIV test and counselling, TB and STI screening, sugar testing and BP. This could help them save time for a long que to the clinic and for those who are afraid going to the clinic could help them a lot. We also distribute condoms for the community to protect themselves from different diseases. 

At katekani community project we offer short courses to the youth. So hear it was a class of life skills which was for one week and end-user computing for three weeks. Life skill is where we help them boost themselves, set goals shirt and long term. End-user is a basic of Microsoft. After completing this shirt courses we issue them certificate.
